Overscan
Extra travel past edge
Overscan extends each raster line past the engraving edge so the head accelerates and decelerates outside the image. Without it, edges burn darker where the head slows down.
It costs a little bed space and time and buys perfectly even fills — leave it on unless you are fighting the edge of the work area.
