Grayscale engraving

Power varies by pixel

Grayscale (3D) engraving modulates laser power per pixel instead of dithering dots — darker pixels burn deeper. On dense hardwood or anodized stock it produces true relief.

It is far more material-sensitive than dithering: wood grain fights it, and every power curve needs calibrating per material batch.
