Short answer
Buy the laser whose listing matches your material, your work area and your room, and skip any machine whose safety class, box contents or model name you cannot confirm. On this list that means the xTool M2 for enclosed wood, leather and paper crafts, the OMTech Polar2 for larger CO2 cutting jobs, the xTool F1 Ultra or the Monport 30W fiber for metal marking, and the LONGER Ray5 or Twotrees TTS-55 Pro only after you have checked the points flagged below; the ACMER R20 is an enclosure for an open machine, not a laser. Black Friday 2026 is Friday, November 27, 2026, but this guide lists no prices and no event dates; the live price on each Amazon page is the only number to go by.

Where a maker's own page disagrees with a listing on a point a buyer would act on, the guide shows both and names the maker; on this page that applies to the LONGER Ray5. Each row below is a machine you could buy for yourself or put on a maker's list.

Wood, leather and acrylic crafts
xTool M2 10W Laser Engraver
Per the listing, the M2 is a Class 1, fully enclosed 10W diode engraver with built-in dual cameras that give a real-time preview of the workspace. The listing calls xTool Studio beginner-friendly, with hundreds of templates and an AI image generator, and cites 300+ materials. It states the laser output as 10000mW and the contents as the M2 machine plus a base material kit.
Suits: a crafter who wants a closed machine for wood, leather, felt, fabric and paper, the materials in the listing's title.
Skip it if the plan includes full-color printing or rotary work. The listing says the CMYK Inkjet module and RA3 Lite rotary are "not included in this M2 standalone, available separately as add-ons", and the 3W IR laser for metal and plastic is also sold separately.

LONGER Ray5 20W Laser Engraver and Cutter
Per the listing, the Ray5 pairs a 20W laser module with a 400 × 365 mm working area, a 3.5-inch touchscreen, and USB, TF card, Wi-Fi and app connectivity for online or offline use. It names LaserGRBL, LightBurn and LONGER's own LaserBurn software, and cites single-pass cuts of 15mm pine and 8mm acrylic, with multiple passes for up to 25mm wood and 35mm acrylic.
Suits: a maker who wants a larger bed and offline control from the machine itself.
Check before you buy: the listing says the machine comes with a full protective enclosure and safety goggles. LONGER's own Ray5 page lists "1 x Protective Goggles" in its Basic Set and does not mention an enclosure, so confirm with the seller what ships before you rely on one. Skip it if an enclosed machine is a requirement and you cannot get that confirmed.

Twotrees TTS-55 Pro 5500mW Laser Engraver
Per the listing, the TTS-55 Pro has a 5500 mW (5.5W) laser, a 300x300mm working area, a metal air-assisted nozzle and a red laser shield, a 32-bit dual-core controller with TF card offline engraving and built-in Wi-Fi for app or web control, and LaserGRBL and LightBurn compatibility. Its cutting examples are 5mm plywood, 3mm acrylic and 0.7mm leather.
Suits: a hobbyist who wants a 300x300mm bed and works with thin stock.
Skip it if you plan to cut thick material, since the listing's examples stop at 5mm plywood, or if you expect a pump in the box: the listing talks about making it easier to integrate an air assist system and does not say a pump is included. The listing's title says TTS-55 Pro but its last bullet says TTS-50 Pro, so ask the seller to confirm the model.

Larger cutting and production
OMTech Polar2 70W Desktop CO2 Laser Engraver & Cutter
Per the listing, the Polar2 has a 70W glass CO2 laser tube, a 28 × 14 inch working area with up to 4.92 inches (125 mm) of material height, and speeds up to 1200 mm/s. It adds a built-in 16MP camera with ±0.04 inch positioning accuracy, an included rotary attachment, integrated water cooling and Class I safety protection. LightBurn and RDWorks V8 compatibility and USB, U-disk, Ethernet and Wi-Fi connectivity are listed, and the materials named are wood, acrylic, leather, rubber and paper.
Suits: larger flat jobs and thicker stock, which is what the listing's work area and material-height figures point to. If you are still weighing diode against CO2, this diode-versus-CO2 comparison is the place to start.
Skip it if metal marking is the main job. The listing's materials list names no metals.

Metal marking
xTool F1 Ultra 20W Fiber & Diode Dual Laser Engraver
Per the listing, the F1 Ultra pairs a 20W fiber laser with a 20W diode laser: the fiber engraves metals (gold, silver, copper, stainless steel, brass, titanium) and the diode handles wood, acrylic, leather, glass, rubber and fabric. It lists a 16MP camera, speeds up to 10,000mm/s, a 220mm x 220mm working area (220mm x 500mm with the Auto Conveyor), 3D embossing and diode cutting of up to 15mm wood and 12mm black acrylic. It also names a fully enclosed cover, smoke extraction, a fire safety alarm and an emergency stop button, and calls the machine a Class 4 laser engraver with 20,000mW diode and infrared output.
Suits: someone who wants metal and wood work in one machine. If metal is the main job, this fiber-versus-CO2 comparison of bare and coated marking is worth reading first.
Skip it if you expect conveyor batching out of the box: the Auto Conveyor is not included and is sold separately.

Monport 30W Fiber Laser Engraver with LightBurn
Per the listing, the Monport is a 30W fiber marking machine with a red dot pointer and a 150 × 150 mm (5.9 × 5.9 inch) working area. It cites speeds up to 10000mm/s, 0.01mm accuracy and a lifespan of up to 100000 hours, says the fiber laser can engrave all metals (gold, silver, copper, stainless steel, brass, titanium), and lists 2.5D and deep metal engraving and some metal sheet cutting. It says the machine can be operated using LightBurn and that software is supplied on a USB drive in the package. The listing calls 150 × 150 mm optimal for a 30W fiber laser, since a larger engraving area may give a poor engraving effect or distortion.
Suits: marking small metal parts.
Skip it if you need a large work area, or wood and acrylic work. The listing describes metal marking only.

Enclosure add-on
ACMER R20 Laser Engraver Enclosure
This is an enclosure, not a laser. Per the listing, it is a fire-resistant cover of high-temperature fiberglass fabric with a double-sided silicone coating that withstands heat up to 1000°C (1832°F), with an exhaust fan and ventilation hose for smoke and odor, a dual-layer structure to reduce noise, and a double-layer light-filtering PVC window that reduces blue light exposure. It lists compatibility with most laser engravers up to 700 × 700 × 400 mm, with room for taller items and rotary attachments.
Suits: someone running an open machine who wants smoke ventilation, quieter operation and a viewing window. This comparison of enclosed and open-frame diode lasers covers the safety tradeoff.
Skip it if your machine is larger than 700 × 700 × 400 mm, or is already enclosed (the xTool M2 and F1 Ultra listings describe enclosed designs). The listing states no laser-safety class for the cover. Treat it as a ventilation and containment accessory, not a replacement for the maker's safety guidance.

What to check before you buy, and what to skip
Settle the fit to your material and your room first, then check the current price on Amazon.
- Match the laser type to the material. The F1 Ultra listing assigns metals to its fiber laser and wood, acrylic, leather, glass, rubber and fabric to its diode laser, and the Monport listing says its fiber laser engraves all metals. The Ray5 and TTS-55 Pro listings name "metal" among their materials, so read each maker's materials list before counting on a particular metal.
- Match the work area to the project. The listings give 150 × 150 mm for the Monport, 220 × 220 mm for the F1 Ultra, 300 × 300 mm for the TTS-55 Pro, 400 × 365 mm for the Ray5 and 28 × 14 inches for the Polar2.
- Confirm the safety class and the box contents with the maker. The listings word the class differently (Class 1 for the M2, Class I for the Polar2, Class 4 for the F1 Ultra), and the Ray5 listing's enclosure claim does not appear in the Basic Set list on LONGER's own Ray5 page.
- Check that the model name is consistent. The Twotrees listing names both the TTS-55 Pro and the TTS-50 Pro.
- Count the add-ons. Per their listings, the M2's CMYK Inkjet module, 3W IR laser and RA3 Lite rotary and the F1 Ultra's Auto Conveyor are sold separately.

Frequently asked
Black Friday 2026: which laser engravers are worth buying, and which should you skip?
Worth buying is the machine that matches your material, work area and room: the xTool M2 for enclosed crafts, the OMTech Polar2 for larger CO2 jobs, the xTool F1 Ultra or Monport 30W for metal marking. Skip any machine whose class, box contents or model name you cannot confirm, skip a diode machine if metal is the main job unless the maker's materials list covers your metal, and skip the ACMER R20 if your machine is over 700 × 700 × 400 mm or already enclosed.
When is Black Friday 2026?
Friday, November 27, 2026. This guide gives no Amazon event dates and no prices; the live price on each product page is the number to go by.
Which of these laser engravers are enclosed?
Per the listings, the xTool M2 is Class 1 with a fully enclosed design and the xTool F1 Ultra has a fully enclosed cover. The OMTech Polar2 listing cites Class I safety protection, the Ray5 listing claims an enclosure that LONGER's own page does not list, and the ACMER R20 is an enclosure for other machines.
Which of these can engrave metal?
Per the listings, the xTool F1 Ultra's fiber laser and the Monport 30W fiber laser, and the xTool M2 with its separately sold 3W IR laser. The Ray5 and TTS-55 Pro listings name metal among their materials, so check the makers' lists, and the OMTech Polar2 listing names no metals.
