Cast vs extruded acrylic

Cast acrylic engraves to a bright frosty white — the look people expect from engraved acrylic. Extruded acrylic engraves faint and gray, but cuts with cleaner, flame-polish-ready edges and costs less.

Rule of thumb: engraving jobs buy cast; cut-only jobs can buy extruded. Sheets are rarely labeled at retail, so test a corner — cast frosts, extruded stays glassy.
